The Yoruba Nollywood movie industry is filled with talented actors who have great expertise in what they do. They show high level of professionalism in acting that will make movie viewers to anticipate watching their featured movies.

Yoruba comic actors are the live of the movie industry. They serve as muse to the delight of movie watchers such that most movies are filled with comic relief as they have at least one comic actor featuring in them.

Dejo Tunfulu is one of the Yoruba veteran comic actors who contributed immensely to the movie industry which has improved Yoruba comedy. Dejo Tunfulu acts as an imbecile and a stammerer in most of his movie roles.

Dejo Tunfulu’s real name is Kunle Mac Tokunbo. He was born on May 31, 1969 into the family of six and he is the last child of his parents identified as Mr and Mrs Abass Adetokunbo in Idumota, Lagos State. They hail from Ikija area of Abeokuta, Ogun state.

Dejo Tunfulu attended Ansarudeen Primary School, Ereko, Lagos and later proceeded to Dolphin High School, Ebute-Elefun where he discovered his acting talent by joining the entertainment society of his school. He is also a holder of a proficiency certificate in printing which he received at Modern Way Nigeria School of Printing, Ayetoro, Fadeyi, Lagos State.

At his early acting stage, Dejo Tunfulu joined few theatre groups which include Akuko Gagara Theatre Group, Arabanla Theatre Group and Kolawole International Theatre Group. This legend comic actor started his acting career in the year 1987.

He featured in a TV series titled ‘Theatre Omode’ which was broadcasted on the Nigeria Television Authority, NTA Channel 7. He came into limelight with the movie titled ‘Omo Oran’ where he acted as the son of veteran actor, Lalude.

Dejo Tunfulu joined Yoruba Nollywood movie industry around the year 2000. His mentor in the movie industry is late veteran actor, Chief Hubert Ogunde. His contemporaries in the Yoruba movie industry include the likes of Mr. Latin, Opebe, etc.

Dejo Tunfulu is a movie producer. Some of his produced movies include ‘Won Wa Mi L’Ame’ which was shot at Durban Film Festival in South Africa. Others are ‘Ero Ibanisoro’, ‘Aya Rere’, ‘BomBoy’, ‘Tori Ife’, ‘Oponu Meta’, etc.

Dejo Tunfulu has also featured in several Yoruba movies. His film ‘Booda Ode’, a comic dance drama, which also featured comic actress ‘Mama No Network’ further projected him to Yoruba movie watchers in the early 2000s.

Talking about this exceptionally talented actor’s marital life, it was not a smooth journey from the onset. He was a single parent at some point and his first wife identified as Adesola Olakunle gave up the ghost in December 2012 during childbirth. Dejo Tunfulu married his current wife, Deola Idowu Gunwa in 2016.

Dejo Tunfulu is blessed with wonderful children and grandchildren. He has 2 grown-up daughters from his previous marriage. They are identified as Sammyhat Pamilerin and Mrs. Balogun-Boje with the nickname, Oloreephadeelah.

Sammyhat Pamilerin tied the knot with her husband, Ahmed Babatunde Oladele popularly known as Danku Malaysia in 2016 when she was just 17 years old. They are blessed with a son simply identified as Abdul-Wareez Adesola Ronaldo.

Dejo Tunfulu’s first daughter, Mrs. Balogun-Boje got married to her husband Balogun-Boje on July 29, 2017. The marriage is blessed with a son identified as Abdul-Azeem Balogun-Boje.

Dejo Tunfulu is such a blessed career and family man. He also has other children who are not mentioned in this article.
