jubilation as a university in Nigerian reduces school fees amid the covid-19 pandemic

Following the ongoing global pandemic which have increased the rate of hardship in Nigeria and the world at large, a high institution in Nigeria has deemed it fit to cut-down their tuition fees to enable parents and students who are struggling to sponsor themselves to have a bit of relief when schools finally resume.

The nation report that the management of Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba Akoko (AAUA) edo state have reduced the tuition fees of their institution. The information is contained in the circular issued by the Acting register of the institution. Opeoluwa Akinfemiwa on Thursday August 27th, in Akungba Akoko.

Akinfemiwa Revealed that, the decision to reduce the institution school fees by the school management, was to reduce the Economic effect of Covid-19 pandemic on parents and students.


The circular read: "I write on the directive of the Acting vice chancellor Prof. Olugbenga E. Ige to inform all the returning students of Adekunle Ajasin, University Akungba Akoko. that following the appeal of students and in view of the economic effects of covid-19 on parents and students, Gov. Rotimi Akeredolu, have directed that the institution should consider a reduction in school fees in a way that the quality of education will still be sustained.

it further stated that, the returning students of the faculty of science will now pay 120,000 instead of 150,000 while students from the faculty of Social and management sciences would now pay 120,000 instead of 150,000.

"the returning students of faculty of Arts with students of faculty of education will now pay 80,000 instead of 100,000 while law students fees remain unchanged 150,000".
