Fuel Price Increase: See What Some Nigerians Are Calling On Atiku, Peter Obi & Others To Do
Following news of the hike in petrol price and electricity tariff, the internet was really awash yesterday, September 3, with many blasting this current administration for so doing in this time of hardship.
According to reports, the hike in petrol price came barely two days after electricity tariff was increased by about 300 per cent,
It's learnt that the new petrol price as announced by the Federal Government, is now sold at the depot at N151.56 while oil marketers fixed their pump price at N162 per litre.
Recall that over the last couple of months, the government had increased the pump price from N121.50 to N138.60, N143.80 and N145 per litre at different times, on the advice of the Petroleum Product Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA), after reviewing market fundamentals and operating costs.
However, this latest petrol price and electricity tariff has gotten alot of Nigerians demanding for another peaceful protest just as it was done in 2014 when Goodluck Jonathan was in president.
Although Atiku Abubakar reacted to the latest hike, but many on social media are calling on him to stop online complaints about irregularities in the country if he is not willing to lead a physical protest just as he did with Buhari at #OccupyNigeria.
Nigerians said that they want the former presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party alongside his running mate, Peter Obi & other opposition politicians to lead a protest against the recent increase in electricity tariffs and hike in petrol price.
