4 Prominent Things That Happened At The Burial Of Late Tolulope Arotile, The Ist Female Combat Pilot

It was a moment of tears as the first female Combat Pilot in Nigeria Tolulope Arotile was laid to rest. Her family, The Nigerian Airforce and some government officials including Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello were in attendance.

The Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar was seen with his eyes filled with tears as he watched the funeral of one of the officers who made the Nigerian Air Force proud.

I personally felt the pain of the family of Tolulope who were all in black attire, moody and devastated.
The Nigerian Airforce really gave her a befitting burial she deserves as a young courageous and vibrant lady who was patriotic. Below are the prominent things that happened at the burial of Tolulope Arotile, the first female Combat Pilot in Nigeria.

Her Corpse Was Welcomed In A Red Carpet

Tolulope's corpse was welcomed in a red carpet with her colleagues all in the official uniform of the Nigerian Airforce who matched with songs to the stand where her body was laid. All the attendees stood up for a minute silent in honor of the late Flying Officer Tolulope Arotile.

A Funeral Sermon Was Delivered

The chaplain of the Nigerian Airforce gave a sermon which was in honor of Tolulope. According to the man of God, Tolulope's death is devastating. He said that in situations like this, nobody can question God for only him knows everything. He also used the opportunity to ask the various level of government in Nigeria to tackle the frequent cases of rape, and sexual harassment in the country. He described Tolulope as dedicated and patrotic officer who served the country with all her strength.

Lowring Her Body In The Grave

Her family who were all in black outfit took turn to pour sand in her grave as a way bidding her farewell.

Before then the chaplain of the Nigerian Air Force had said a few prayers and hymns were sang.

Laying Of Wreaths

Tolulope Arotile was given a full military burial. Some of the dignitaries who attended her burial took turns to lay a wreath around her grave to demonstrate their love and affection for the deceased military officer.

Some Nigerians are still suprised at the sudden death of Tolulope who died few weeks ago. According to the Nigerian Air Force, she was mistakenly hit by the car of a schoolmate whom she wanted to greet. Nigerians both home and abroad have sympathised with her family whom she left behind.
The late Tolulope was a dedicated Air Force Officer whose love for Nigeria made her join the military. She will always be remembered as the first female combat pilot in Nigeria.
I thereby call on the federal government to immortalize her. We continue to pray that the Almighty God will continue to rest soul, and also grant her family the fortitude to bear the loss.

Do you support my suggestion that the federal government should immortalize the late Totulope?
